The boys lacrosse team aims to capture its first Colonial Valley Conference title since 2014, after winning the Colonial Division last year. The team fell in the semifinals of the Mercer County Tournament and the quarterfinals of the NJSIAA Lacrosse State Tournament. They are now intent on surpassing both performances this spring, returning this year with more experience from a larger senior class and high expectations for their key players.
“At one end we have my co-captain (Norman) Tooker Callaway, he’s the rock of the defense,” said Co-Captain and attacker Johnny Lopez-Ona ’17.
Other important players on the defense include the two twins, defenders Patrick and Ian Jacobs ’17, as well as defensive-midfielder Ryan Ferrell ’18. On the other end, Lopez-Ona and attacker Eamonn Mcdonald ’17 command the offense, as the vocal leaders on the field.
“Johnny (Lopez-Ona) started all four years and Eamonn has started for three, they score key goals for us and they run the offence,” said Co-Captain and defender Callaway.
