Studio Band’s travels to Spain and Portugal

Joseph Bell ’16, plays “Body and Soul” at the Getafe Professional Conservatory of Music in Getafe, Madrid. This concert was one of the three on tour, all of which were played in concert halls or conservatories.

The band stopped here to get a glimpse at the more rural parts of Spain. Though not shown in the picture, this town is surrounded by vast swathes of vineyard land.

While in Madrid, Studio Band had a chance to roam freely. This is the bustling Christmas market, with its outlandish hanging boxes and festive vibes. The Spanish celebrate Christmas from early December all the way through January 6.

Studio Band visited this fountain in the Plaza de la Virgen in Valencia, Spain. Valencia—the third largest municipality in Spain—has a warm, authentic atmosphere and a rich cultural heritage. The band played its first concert and spent two days in this lovely city.
