With one day to go until the start of the season, the members of the boys lacrosse team went out onto the snow-covered practice field and dug holes with their gloved hands as part of a two-day attempt to make the snow melt faster. Also in preparation for their season, the boys have been gathering every Tuesday and Thursday in the weight room to train.

The team arrived at the school at 11:30 p.m. wearing shirts and ties for the plane ride. After an hour-long bus ride to Newark Airport, the team boarded the airplane for Orlando. The boys had gotten ready for their Florida scrimmages with a scrimmage the previous day against Princeton Day School, during which no score was kept. The boys then arrived at World Class Lacrosse in Kissimmee, Florida, right outside of Orlando. Following dinner, the boys went right to work with a practice.

The 7 a.m. wake-up call the next day was abrupt for many. After eating a quick breakfast, the team practiced again for two hours. The boys then had a short rest and lunch, and began another two-hour practice. The day was not even close to being over. Following another rest period, PHS scrimmaged with Connecticut team Choate Rosemary Hall.

After another 7 a.m. rise and morning practice, rain canceled the rest of the day’s scrimmages. The boys instead participated in team-building exercises for the remainder of the day.

Following four more hours of practice, Princeton scrimmaged with St. Paul’s School from New Hampshire. The team members hope that the work they put in at Florida will result in a win during their season opener on March 27 at Hightstown High School.
