Summer’s almost here, and with the absence of school you’ll probably have a lot more time in your schedule. You may be ready for summer camp, or you might even have a vacation planned out. But on those days when there’s nothing else to do, going to the theater and watching a movie is a perfect way to occupy your time. This summer, there are a variety of motion pictures with new stories and actors making their way to the silver screen. Below are some of this summer’s most anticipated movies that you might want to check out.

Spiderman Homecoming, July 7 – The third reboot of Marvel’s Spiderman movie franchise sees a young Peter Parker team up with Iron Man to take down the Vulture, who threatens New York City. From his appearance in Captain America: Civil War, actor Tom Holland has been deemed the “best Spiderman yet” by fellow Marvel actor Anthony Mackie, who plays War Machine. This film is a must-see for both fans and non-fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

War for the Planet of the Apes, July 14 – In this third installment of the Planet of the Apes reboot series, humans and apes continue to clash for the control of Earth. The lead ape, Caesar, must deal with his inner conflicts in order for him to win the war and take control of the planet. What happens next will change the world forever.

Wish Upon, July 14 – Clare Shannon is given a mysterious music box, housing an evil magic that grants her every wish and desire. But once her wishes bring unintended terror to  those around her, Clare must find a way to stop the dark magic before she has to pay the ultimate price.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, July 21 – In the utopian City of a Thousand Planets, better known as ‘Alpha,’ hundreds of thousands of sentient species live in harmony amongst each other within a sprawling metropolis. But when a strange force terrorizes the city’s citizens, special operatives Valerian and Laureline must stop the impending doom before it destroys all life in the city.
